Answers
to Questions - Creation vs.
Evolution
How could the universe be
only a few thousand years old, if we see stars billions of light years
away?
The Young Earth answer is that God created
the heavens in a state of age and existence. The light had already
traveled from stars very far away. The Old Earth answer is that the stars
have been around for billions of years. The first "day" of creation was
actually the first period of time (see question #4 for Young/Old Earth).
Some people have attempted to show evidence that the speed of light is
slowing down. DON’T believe that idea. First the "evidence" is FAR from
statistically reliable. More importantly, any knowledgeable physicist
knows the speed of light MUST be constant. Many laws of physics have
proven it and require it. Take one example: E =Mc2 (Energy= Mass x Speed
of light2 ). The sun produces energy in the form of heat. If light were
once faster (or the Mass greater) only a small increase in the speed of
light would incinerate all life (even melt many other elements).
Calculations proposed, indicate Abraham would have been burnt to a crisp
(with everything else). Such unrealistic ideas cause intellects to reject
believers of the Bible.
