Is there evidence that humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years?

NO. Since the early 1900’s most Christians have attempted to claim an earth a few thousand years old. Most scientists have attempted to prove the opposite - many billions of years. This debate created many inaccurate proofs including "Piltdown Man, Nebraska Man, Ramapithecus, Lucy." The truth has revealed that some were intentional hoaxes, others were just mistakes. Recent evidence indicates the Neanderthal "man" was really an extinct ape. Clear evidence of MAN involves worship of God (animals never have done that). Making shelters and tools mean nothing - many animals do that (birds, beavers, fish, etc.) But artwork is a related indication of humans. The earliest artwork, discovered in France, estimates humans to be about 40,000 years old - well within the Biblical framework. Of course this easily fits within the Old Earth concept. Yet it could also fits within the Young Earth viewpoint. There is no solid evidence that Man was created hundreds of thousands of years ago. And there is no need to totally reject scientific dating.
