What percentage of ancient Biblical sites has been examined by archaeologists?

Current estimates show that the surface has only been scratched. About 30-35% of known sites have been actually excavated, with 30% of those sites really dug and only 25-30% of those sites ever published in the literature. These statistics indicate that a great deal of evidence still awaits discovery.
